Hawaii Statewide and Maui & Kauai Regional ITS Architecture

Working as the prime consultant for HDOT’s statewide and regional ITS architecture program, ICX developed the Statewide ITS Architecture and the Maui & Kauai County-wide Regional Architectures.
The Plans provided a framework for cohesive ITS implementations across the State, and integrated with emergency management, civil defense, traveler information.

Hawaii State ITS Program Plans

Developed the ITS Program Plan and ITS Strategic Plan for fiscal years 2012-2024; Established goals and objectives for the agency to align the ITS implementation through 2024.
Developed and renewed ITS Program Plan for fiscal years 2025-2034; Assessed the existing ITS program and Reset the goals and objectives; Developed a phased work plan to align the goals and objectives with prioritized projects and actions.

ICX provides consulting services for HDOT's traffic signal controller upgrade and the implementation of adaptive traffic signal control project, which involves procuring a new central traffic management system, replacing traffic signal controllers for 255 State traffic signals on Oahu, and installing adaptive signal control at 118 select locations.
Our firm assisted the client throughout the procurement process and currently provides support for the system implementation.
